Red Rooster

Well, I am about two weeks behind, so I am just going to give the highlights. Here is a picture of the group of ladies that I attended the Red Rooster (Scrapbook retreat). We had so much fun, well, I am assuming they had as much fun as I did. So here is the group from left to right, my mom, Lorie, me, Shelley Bean with butter bean, Going Goofy, Sherry, Loveday's Day and AmIGettingOld. This is what our tables looked like from the balcony. The whole room was just neat to look at from above; or a mess depending on how you want to think about it.
Here is a picture of me that Going Goofy took, when I completed one of the projects I brought with me for the weekend. It is an entire scrapbook of Little Man's journey through his health issues. I took all the blog post and pictures that went with those post and made him a scrapbook. It turned out great. I love it.

Red Rooster Food

Okay, the food at the Red Rooster was just fabulous. It was all homemade from scratch and us just excellent. I have agree with Going Goofy though, one of the best things was that you are working and smelling the food cook, they call you to eat, you go eat, then you go right back to work, no preparing the food and no cleaning up the dishes.Here is a picture of the breakfast that we eat on the Sunday morning before we left. The egg casserole, which Going Goofy would not have eaten, was the best thing on the menu for the entire weekend. It was all great, but this was the best.

Red Rooster

Here is the clan that went to Red Rooster, that I know anyway. There was a total of 23 ladies. The Red Rooster was an excellent getaway to get lots of scrapbooking done. From left to right in the picture is my Mom, Lorie, Me, Shelley Bean, Mrs. Going Goofy, Sherry, Loveday's Day, and AmIGettingOld. I had a great time. I will definitely do it again.
This was our tables. All our stuff/equipment was on the table behind me, which would be the bottom of the picture. It was crazy looking when you went up to the balcony and looked down at the madness. A picture does not really capture the madness.
This is one of the projects that I started and finished this weekend. I scrapbooked Little Man's journal, from symptoms, to diagnosis to surgery. I took all of my blog post and put them in this book along with all the pictures that went with those posts. I have to say, I am a bit pride of yourself for starting and finishing it over the weekend.

October Challenge

In the previous post, you saw the stuff that was given to us for this months challenge. Here is my final creation with the stuff given and a couple of things from my supplies.

When Little Man is at the barber shop getting his hair cut, he just sits in the chair and stares straight ahead. The hubby thinks the vacuum sound puts him in a trance. Only Little Man knows and he is not talking.

Random Stuff

Today, I remembered to take a picture of the new kitchen floor. So here you go. It is a porcelain tile that is a bit darker than the carpet, but still in the neutral colors. The hubby and I think that it looks great up against the dark cabinets. We still have to nail down the quarter round and put the dishwasher and refrigerator back in place, but it is mostly done.

I also thought that I would include a picture of everything that was in this months challenge from our scrapbooking guru. As you can tell, there are four pieces of paper, rub-ons, ribbon, and dip sticks. We get all this for $5.00, and the chance to win a scrapbooking prize. I will be working on my challenge today, since it is due tonight. I will post a picture when I am done, so you can see what I did with the stuff. I don't have a idea yet, but I am sure it will come together.

Mini Books

So my scrapbooking guru is always trying to get us to step out of our box and try something a little different. She had posted about doing a mini-book. Going Goofy gave me this little mini-album, so I decided to try it and see what happens. I have to said I like the finished product and it only took a total of about 3 hours to do.
All I could find was some old pictures of Kid-O, so this whole mini-book is all about her. Just the way she likes it to be. This is her three year old picture and a little story about the picture to go with it.

Here is this months challenge. My scrapbooking guru/instructor challenged us to do a layout about ourselves. At first, I did not like this idea, but the more I thought about her point, the more I got it. Her point was that many of us moms are behind the camera, not in front of it; therefore, our scrapbooks are not truly of the family. In my case they are 4/5 of the family. All of my childrens' books have many, many pictures of the Hubby because I am always taking pictures of him playing with them, but there are not pictures of me. (Not to mention, I am not fond of having my picture taken anyway) So I accepted the challenge. Maybe my children will enjoy reading the answers one day.

July Challenge

Once a month, I go scrapbooking at a friends house with other friends. Whitsdom provides us with a challenge to do at home and then show her to be added into a drawing for a little scrapbooking gift.

I am not going this month because I will be attending a fellowship with some ladies from church. I will still get to scrapbook though.

Anyway, I was posting my challenge for Whitsdom to come look at so that she could put my name in the hat. Hope everyone else enjoys looks at it.

This is everything from Kid-O's 1st grade year that I felt was worthy of keeping: class picture of course, her all year A honor certificate, highest AR average certificate, and her art certificate, report card, along with something from the first day of school and something from the last couple of weeks, and finally a letter she wrote her teacher about wanting to be a teacher one day. The way I put it all together, she will be able to flip through the pages to look at them one day, if she wants.
