A little getaway...

During fall break, the hubby and I left the kids with grandma and grandpa for about three day. It was really great to get away, even if it was for all a couple of days. We were able to get a little bit of Christmas shopping done, as well as have a great time together. One day before a little bit of shopping we went this place call Alligator Alley. It was fun and interesting.

By the way, I don't want this guys job. Although, it looked like he was enjoying the gators.

He is the hubby holding a little gator. We only took this picture for the kids, then we forgot to show it too them, so I guess you guys get to see it. It was wonderful spending alone time with the hubby. Eating what we wanted, when we wanted, and not having to stop to go potty every hour. It was fabulous. On night you even order Chinese take out to the hotel room. It just doesn't get much better than that.

Amazing Hubby

For those of you who are married, do you ever really stop and think about what God has blessed you with in your husband.

This is what God gave me... A man of strong convictions... A best friend... A man who cares for me and about me... Loves me as Christ loves me... He is my daily picture of God... If you were to ask me when I was the closest to God this week, most of the time the answer would be when the hubby did this... He praises God... He talks to God... He talks about God with me... He sees me as a gift from God... He tells me I am perfect and means it... His pleasure comes from my pleasure... A great dad... Patient... Head of household, I don't have to be... A picture of Christ to our children... Soft spoken, unless it is the time to not be... Focused... Thoughtful... Loving... Tender heart... God loves me though him daily...

I could go on all day. I just felt the need to tell others just how wonderful he is, and how God blesses me daily through him.

Father Daughter Dance

Behind again. The Indian Princess Father Daughter dance was back on February 13th. Kid-O was very excited to goo buy a dress and get all dressed up. A princess of course. I thought she looked beautiful; I might be a bit biased though.

Daddy was really excited. HaHa...

Kid-O picked the green dress with pink flowers to my surprise. She said it is because green is Daddy's favorite color.

Posing...

They finally got home at 9:33pm. Daddy looks tired, what do you think?

Picture Updates

In a post a few days ago, I said that I would post pictures of the Hubby's new Gibson J-100 guitar. Well, here it is. He and I love the way it sounds. The J is for jumbo. You can tell from the pictures that the body of this guitar is very large, which is part of what gives it should a great sound.

Thanks again to the in-laws for providing a very large chunk of "chicken feed", as an old neighbor friend would always say, to help pay for this baby.

I beleive we have settle on Autumn for this guitar's name.

Look how happy.

Rested and Relaxed

So, as I mentioned, the Hubby and I got to spend the last week together without any children around. It was great to get to spend some quality time with the Hubby. Thanks to the in-laws.

Anyway, we spent the first three days in Nashville at Opry Mills. We got a lot of Christmas shopping finished. Best of all, the Hubby got an amazing Christmas present from his parents and myself. It had to be a joint effort. He got a Gibson J-100 Acoustic/electric guitar. I will post pictures of it later. We are still coming up with a name for her. He said Amber because of her color, I am thinking Autumn.

We also watched two movies while in Nashville. We saw Eagle Eye in Imax, and Fireproof. Both were excellent movies, I recommended them to anyone. And you know, now that I think about it, I don't believe I remember any cursing or indecent scenes Eagle Eye. Nice.

Then we came back home and the Hubby got the lights up in our bathroom, then I fixed the hole in the wall left by the previous light, and a hole in the wall in Kid-O's room where the previous owners had put a hole in the wrong placed then never fixed it. I also got mulch in the rest of the flower beds around the house. Oh and the Hubby balanced all the fans. I do believe we are ready for the market now. The realtor will be coming over Wednesday night or Thursday, not sure yet.

Then Friday morning we took Breezy up for her Chrysalis flight, relaxed around the house, then Friday night we went to a home grown Opera - Carmen at the Lincoln Center, Ars Nova. It was actually pretty good. That little opera house actually has a lot of talent in it. We were pleasantly surprised. Saturday, we did Chrysalis stuff and relaxed some more, before the children arrived home.

Sunday morning we went to breakfast with the in-laws, had a nice conservation, then they headed home and the family headed on to church.

Oh, I ate lots of good food this past week. I think the best part of this vacation, aside from being alone with the Hubby was the fact that I did not cook a single meal from Saturday night until Saturday night. It was great. On the way home Saturday I asked the hubby if we could eat out one last time before I had to start cooking again. He humored me and said yes.

So, as you can tell, we had a great week and the children had fun as well. I will post pictures of the new guitar and the kids weeks in the next couple of days.

Kids will be kids...

Kids will be kids. Last night this is the scene in my living room. Little Man hanging by his ankles being swung around like he himself is a swing. Daddy will tell you he is all grown up, but I do believe these pictures show otherwise. I just think that Daddy is the big kid in this house.

I get great joy and pleasure out of watching the Hubby play with the children. Not only is he showing love to them by playing with them, he is showing them that being a grown up does not mean that you have to forfeit all fun in life. Your fun is just not self-focused anymore.

Our Anniversary

So it is our anniversary today. The hubby and I have been married for 8 years, together for almost 13. We eloped to Gatlinburg, TN, and got married at Cupid's Chapel of Love. Many asked why we eloped; well, we had been living in sin for more than four years and God decided it was time for us to get married (through Kid-O). The hubby and I have never been happier. God has truly blessed our lives with each other and a beautiful family, not always obedient, but beautiful. Part of the hubby's testimony is that he prayed for me, well, not me, but some one like me. Praying and driving in the rain one night after his heart was broken, he told God he wanted the next one to be the one. All he wanted was to be content. Not long after that, it was Thanksgiving of 1995 and his family writes out their Christmas list. Well, there are catergories like $10.00 items, under $50.00 items and what you really want.

Well, the hubby being silly, wrote, red head 5'5", 36", 24", 36", with green eyes and independently weathly. About two weeks after that, he ran into me on campus, on purpose I believe. He followed me back to work, then back to my dorm. We went for dinner that night. I loved him immediately which scared me to death. We made plans for the next day or the day after, I can't remember, it was exam week. Anyway, I cancelled on him, I was scared. Well, about three weeks later, I called him, and we went out again. After we had been together for about two months, standing outside his parents house, I remember telling him that I was going to marry him. Well, I don't know that he believed me, but he stuck it out. I guess the rest would be history now.

Just more proof that God loves us and will show us in everything if we will just look, and open our hearts to him. By the way, I am not independently weathly, unless you look at my relationship with God. And the hubby will tell you that God way surpassed what he asked for or could have come up with one his own. How blessed am I to have been given to such a wonderful man. God shows himself to me everyday through my hubby. Thank you for giving him to me and thank you to the hubby for loving me.
