Funk

How do you get out of a funk? I have been in one for a while now, between the overtime, the Chicago trip, and now a golf trip, I am in a bit of a funk. I miss my hubby dearly, and am beginning to feel like a single mom. Makes me appreciate my hubby even more than I already did, and feel for the single mothers out there. I am feeling like I am going crazy, or that I am the junior Mrs. Going Goofy.

I hate being in a funk. Nothing seems to go right (meaning my way), but of course it is right because it is God's way, I just don't like it. When I am in a funk, it becomes very difficult to focus on God and not my situation. I think, what do I have to be in a funk about, I have a wonderful hubby, great kids, a nice home, my health, etc. It makes it very difficult to figure out exactly what is the problem.

I tell people I never get a vacation, because even when we go on vacation the children are still there. I love my children very much, but I could use a nice long break. Lots of people just don't seem to get that concept.

So, back to my question, how do you get out of a funk? Any suggestions? I could use them.

Nothing to say - And don't want too

If you can believe that, I actually have nothing to say. I could talk about my grass that is about a foot high that I don't want to cut, I could tell you a funny story about one of the kids, or I could talk about what God is teaching me right now. But for some reason, none of that seems like anything I want to write today. I am tired from the overwhelming weekend, and feel the need to just rest. Maybe I'll take some pictures later of the foot talk grass. Who knows?

Duh...

So I went to the doctor Friday morning, for a yearly physical, thinking that my thyroid medicine may need to be adjusted because I am tired all the time again. Well, everything looks good with my thyroid. So of course, Doc asks the most obvious questions.
Doc: What time do you go to bed?
Me: Around 11 to 11:30pm.
Doc: What time do you get up?
Me: 5:45am
Doc: So you are getting 6 1/4 to 6 3/4 hours of sleep.
Me: Yep.
Doc: You have three children. You need 8 hours of sleep per night. I expect you to go to bed and get sleep. That is why you are tired.
My point. My insurance company paid my Doc $119.00 for her to tell me the obvious, when I was thinking it was my thyroid. I think I might have temporary forgot to use my brain.

Monkey Business

How many children do you see?

If you counted three, you would be right. So why is it all the kids try to be in the same place at the exact same time? Has anyone ever wondered about that?

Maybe we are supposed to be learning something from children that we miss, like loving each other even though most of the time we can't stand each other. Is that not what God calls us to do. Is that not the greatest commandment, "to love one another."

Because when children are all piled up in the same place at the same time, they have to love each other or one of them will fall off of that five foot bed. If we all piled up together and loved one another despite our differences who can fall?

Just a crazy thought...

Confused...

Have you ever had one of those days where you would just like to run away? Well, that is me right now. I would like to be able to get away from everything and everyone and relax. Time to figure out what I want. Even though I know it is not about what I want; it is about God's plan for my life. Right now his plan is for me to be the mother and submitted wife. I am struggling with always being in demand for others, but never really having time for myself and then when I do I fell guilty. For example, Saturday, I went out with some women friends from church. I had a good time, but I know it would have been better if I could have gotten past the guilt of leaving my husband with the kids (not from him though). I know that guilt comes from Satan. So as you can tell, I am confused on how to be the person that I want to be and the person God has made me into.

Understanding my title...

I am entering the great new work of blogging, so it might take me time to get the hang of this process. So to begin I am going to start by explaining my title "Would you like a crown with that?" I went to my wonderful husband and asked him to give me a title without telling him what it was for. His response was the perfect wife, then red hot. I thought both of those quite nice, but not appropriate for a title. So "Would you like a crown with that?" is about trying to be the perfect wife, mother, daughter and friend. Being the person that Christ would have me to be because I do already have a "crown with that."
